JoyFULL Learning Developmental Childcare and Preschool is a home and play-based learning program where a child’s early learning and education is joyful and meaningful. We seek to make every aspect of learning engaging and fun. We are driven by young children’s interest, curiosity and exploration. These are the necessary building blocks by which children become lifelong learners. Encompassing the child development theories of Erikson, Jean Piaget, Lev Vygostky, Urie Bronfenbrenner and other educators such as Lisa Delpit, Pedro Noguera, and Louise Derman-Sparks, we know that children learn by doing social interactions with their peers, adults and community. The aim of our program is for a child to have a joyful experience while developing and learning. In addition, we incorporate the Reggio Emilia approach (children expressing themselves in ways according to their personalities).
The aim of JLDCP is driven by meaningful relationships, engaging community, a sense of belonging and an exuberant experience of learning about the world joyfully. Honoring children as capable and active agents in their authentic learning experiences is our goal.
JoyFULL Learning Developmental Childcare and Preschool is a nonsectarian childcare and preschool which operates in an atmosphere of caring, respectful and acceptance of all people. We welcome and are committed to a community free of bias and discrimination based on race, creed, religion, national origin, abilities, sexual orientation or gender identity. By working closely with families, we aim to provide the safety net to support children’s need to identify and express their feelings and develop skills to problem-solve collaboratively with peers. We offer an anti-bias curriculum which recognizes and celebrates diversity.
